How much do windows cost? Windows come in all shapes, sizes, and styles. Their prices can also range greatly depending on the glass and materials used to create the frames. This includes vinyl, wood, aluminum, fiberglass, or composite. Home Depot’s recently posted a cost guide. Double or Single Hung vinyl replacement windows can cost anywhere from $800 to $1400 each. Of course, the materials used to create windows will drive up or down the cost. Aluminum is on the lower end of the scale, and composites are on the higher end.
According to Home Advisor 2021, “A single window unit runs $300 to $1,200 for standard sizes. Custom and bay windows cost $2,000 on average. Labor costs $150 to $800 per window or about $40 per hour.” Remember that window replacement does not have to be an all-or-nothing proposition. To save money, a homeowner can replace only those that need it the most. You can also add an attractive specialty window in the front of the home for added curb appeal.
